| Dale was born in November 28, 1959 daughter of Alfred and Blanch Sullivan. In a small town in Newfoundland called Pouch Cove. Sister Sharon brothers Keith and Irvin Sullivan. Irving being the eldest then Dale then Sharon and the youngest being Keith. Grand Parents Violet and Earnest Sullivan. Dale attended School At all Saints Pouch Cove Elementary School and then went to St. John's for high school. Graduated From Prince of Wales Collegiate 1976. She then worked at Exxon house a nursing home for disadvantaged and physically disabled children. She worked as a nurse's assistant. She then later obtained work at Escazoni Hoyules an old age home where she worked as a Nurses aid for many years. Dale married at the young age of 19 in December 1978 to Gerry Gardner. Their first child was born in 1979 a girl named Kelly Ann Gardner. Gerry and Dale moved into their newly built home in the town of Pouch Cove in the year 1983 and shortly after their second child was born in 1983. Named Mark Patrick Gardner. Dale was well known in the community for volunteering her time for various fund raising concerts. She often gave of her time to aid in raising money for various causes in the community by singing and playing. People in the community were very taken with her beautiful singing voice. She was very active with the all saints Anglican Church and was part of the church choir. Dale was my maid of honor when I got married in 1991 in early 1998 Dale was diagnosed with uterus cancer and it was quite a blow for all the family. She then turned to alternative medicine. She became a part of the hope group giving talks and being a mentor for other terminally ill people. Dale also adopted Dr. Kelly's cancer diet. In Oct 1998 Dale and Gerry came to visit me in Toronto. Dale was also burdened with the news in the year of 1998 that her mother had been diagnosed with liver cancer. She was a great inspiration for her mom. Unfortunately her mom Blanch passed away on May 31, 2000. Sadly just one year and two weeks later on June 15, 2001 Dale's battle with cancer had ended. She will be sadly missed |

GARDINER, Marie Dale - Passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus, on June 15, 2001, after a courageous battle with cancer, Dale Gardiner, aged 41 years of Pouch Cove. Predeceased by mother Blanche Sullivan and mother-in-law Bridget Gardiner. Leaving to mourn with fond memories, her loving and devoted husband Gerald Gardiner; son Mark and daughter Kelly (special friend Rodney Noseworthy); special sister-in-law Carmelita Reid (Tony), St. John`s; father Alfred Sullivan, Pouch Cove; loving sister Sharon Nichols (Glen); brothers: Irvin Sullivan, Ontario and Keith Sullivan, Pouch Cove; little nephews Austin and Brent Nichols, Pouch Cove; father-in-law Gerald Gardiner, Conche; brothers-in-law: Don Gardiner (Helen), Pouch Cove, Gerard Gardiner (Betty), Conche; sisters-in-law: Regina Laite, Random Island, Mary Woodrow (Tom), Bay De Verde, Angela Van Noordan (Leon), Vancouver, BC, Loretta Symmonds (Ron), Conche and dear friend Sherry Shea (Bernie), Pouch Cove. Also leaving a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. - 12 noon, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service to take place from All Saints Anglican Church, Pouch Cove on Monday, June 18, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Pouch Cove. Flowers by family only or as an expression of sympathy, donations in her memory may be made to the All Saints Anglican Church, Pouch Cove. |
